Izzy & Kenny’s wedding at St Machar’s Cathedral & Dunbar Hall- Old Aberdeen

weddings

I loved that Izzy & Kenny’s wedding was so unique to them, it all took place in Old Aberdeen, one of my favourite areas.  Izzy grew up in a lovely granite house across from St Machar’s Cathedral, she wanted it to be involved in her wedding day so organised a tea party for after the ceremony at her mum and dad’s house.  The garden was a perfect location for bride and groom photos.  When the tea and biscuits were finished, everyone walked or jumped in a taxi to Dunbar Hall just down the road, the hall was transformed in to a really […]

James & David’s Funfair wedding at Logie Country House

weddings

My first wedding back after maternity leave was pretty EPIC!  I met James at the YWE wedding show in January, as soon as he mentioned funfair and Victorian fancy dress i was pretty much jumping up and down with excitement.  The grounds of Logie country house were transformed with a chair o plane, a high striker (owned by James, it was featured in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang!) a vintage steam engine and  carnival cut out photo booths, painted by one of James’ talented friend’s.  The guests were encouraged to wear Victorian fancy dress, some of the costumes were awesome!  The […]

Finn – one month

Uncategorized

I had a lovely baby boy on the 11th of April 2016,  Finn was born by elective C section as i have crohns disease and it was the safer option to prevent further health issues arising.  I wanted to document as much as i could in the hospital, my partner Ben agreed to take over in the operating theatre, he has no interest in photography what so ever but somehow got some amazing images!  I decided to continue documenting Finn’s first month, from his first nappy change & bath to watching his first Star Wars film…Well he slept through it […]

Twins first day at School

Portrait Shoot

When Susan, The twins mum first got in touch asking me to photograph her twins first morning getting ready and going to school, i  wasn’t keen.  Starting school is such a massive deal in a child’s life, i didn’t want to be this strange lady turning up and making it more stressful and scary.  I discussed it with some photographer pal’s who have children, they completely changed my mind, they said it was a great idea as mum’s and dad’s are just too busy getting everything ready that they don’t get the time to remember all the lovely little moments.  I […]

Karen & Richie’s wedding at Mar Lodge, Braemar

weddings

Karen & Richie did things a little bit differently on their wedding day.  They decided to keep the ceremony really small with just close family and friends and invite the rest of their guests to join them just after.  I think it worked perfectly for them they got to have an intimate ceremony and their guests got to enjoy loads of their wedding day. I got a surprise when i turned up to photograph bridal prep in the morning my cousin was there!  It turns out Karen’s cousin is married to my cousin, Aberdeen really is a small city!  It […]

Allan & Ashley’s wedding at Culag, Loch Lomond

weddings

Whoooooooop what a day Ashley and Allan had!  I first met Allan when he was one of the groomsmen at a wedding i photographed last year, i was delighted when he got in touch and asked if i was free to shoot his and Ashley’s Loch Lomond wedding.  I had never heard of Culag but i had been a guest at a Loch Lomond wedding the year before so i knew it was going to be super pretty!  So Culag….  I had never seen a venue like it!  There was so much going on!  The first thing i noticed was […]

Steven & Mhairi’s wedding at St Machar’s cathedral & Meldrum House hotel

weddings

It’s been a while since my last blog as my life has been hectic with wedding season and moving house!!  Why did i have to move house at the busiest time of year?!  Well i actually haven’t moved yet, we first moved in to mum and dads for two weeks, then to my sister in laws for three weeks then in a few days back to my parents and then FINALLY in to our new home!!  So as you can imagine it’s all been a bit chaotic so blogging had to take a back seat….  I have so any lovely […]

Steven & Mhairi’s pre wedding shoot at Potarch, Banchory

Pre-Wedding

Steven & Mhairi are getting married on Thursday.  I do enjoy a midweek wedding in Summer!  I met up with these guys at Potarch, a lovely spot by the River Dee not far from Banchory.  It is an ideal setting for a pre wedding shoot and a walk with the dog, Mhairi brought along Copper, i think he enjoyed the shoot too as he got a walk followed by lots of bosies. Looking forward to seeing these guys get married at St Machar’s cathedral in a couple of days.

Emma & Craig’s wedding at Balmakewan Farm

weddings

Emma & Craig got married at the lovely Balmakewan farm, near Laurencekirk, it is such a beautiful area.  The weather looked a bit ominous as i was driving out but there was only two wee showers the whole day ( a good summer’s day in Scotland!)  Let’s start with Emma’s dress- GORGEOUS!  I just loved it!  It was a very pretty beaded,  1920′s inspired Jenny Packham dress.  I did tell her i was jealous and wanted to wear it.  She looked beautiful in it and the fit was perfect, her bum got some appreciation later in the evening by her […]
