India Trip: The golden triangle tour & Holi

Uncategorized

I have been pretty quiet with my blogging recently, mainly because i was in India!  I have always wanted to go to India, seeing the Taj Mahal was quite high up on my bucket list, i don’t actually have a list written down, it’s more of a mental list (next one on the list is to find a fossil!) I timed my trip to India with some charity work by photographing maternal health for IMMPACT, those images will be blogged soon. I joined a tour as i was apprehensive about getting around on my own, especially as i had my […]

Jodie & Terry’s Cove wedding

weddings

Terry & Jodie got married on a lovely spring day in April.  Jodie is a Cove quine and wanted her wedding local and close to her heart, so her and Terry got married at the Cove church, after the ceremony we went to Cove harbour for some photographs then on to the Thistle hotel just up the road for speeches and a meal with their closest family members.  I might be getting a bit soppy in my old age but it was so lovely to photograph the mother daughter bond between Jodie and her mum and Jodie and her daughter, […]

Ailish & Jordan’s pre wedding shoot at Dunnottar castle & stonehaven harbour

Pre-Wedding

Ailish & Jordan are getting married tomorrow!!  We met on Sunday morning at Dunnottar castle for their pre wedding shoot, it was FREEZING!!  We took a few pics at the castle then decided to head down to Stonehaven harbour to get some shelter.  When i first met up with Ailish & Jordan last year we got quite excited chatting about photography, i love it when my bride and grooms are enthusiastic about their photographs,  I’m excited about photographing their wedding tomorrow- Ailish has phoned the local ice cream shop and asked if we can get some pics in there, i […]

Claire & Ben’s wedding at Aswanley

weddings

Claire & Ben got married at Aswanley in August 2013, i’m finally getting round to blogging it on my new (well year old!) website.  Aswanley is such a pretty wedding venue, perfect for couples who want to get married surrounded by beautiful countryside.  It also is the perfect venue for couples wanting to add their own stamp on the day. I’m getting time to experiment with different editing styles just now as wedding season is quiet….  I wanted Claire & Ben’s wedding to be lovely & bright as i think it suited their fun day.  The quiet spell is officially […]

Second shooting at Cara & Dave’s Balbegno Castle wedding

weddings

I’m going way back to a lovely summer’s day in August 2014…. When we didn’t have to wear 5 layers of clothes before leaving the house, in saying that i do love snow!  I hope it stays around for my first wedding of 2015 in two weeks! I was a second shooter at Cara & Dave’s wedding at Balbegno Castle, near Fettercairn.  I hadn’t been a second shooter for years but when i saw Camera Hannah- http://www.hannahmillardphotography.com/ looking for  assistance on a Facebook photo group we are both in i thought i would lend a hand.  Hannah is wedding photographer based […]

Jenny & Dave’s wedding at Thainstone house hotel

weddings

This is a quiet time of year for me so i can catch up on blogging some weddings from last year that i didn’t get round to putting up as i was so busy!  Jenny & Dave got married on a beautiful autumnal day, they were super lucky with the weather.  It had been a while since i had been to Thainstone House hotel and i got a lovely surprise to see it’s renovations, the ceremony room was pretty with lots of natural light flooding in the through the windows.  Jenny & Dave both smiled and laughed throughout their entire […]

YWE Wedding exhibition at AECC

Uncategorized

It’s been nearly a week since i exhibited at the YWE wedding fayre at the AECC, i can honestly say it was exhausting!!  There is such a build up to the fayre as there are so many things to organise.  I wanted to create a hanging wall feature to hang photographs from so it was a little bit different to everyone else’s and i just like to make things!  I went to Countessewells forest and collected some branches, i then sanded them down and sawed off any jagged bits.  I also made up new flyers, bought hessian table cloths and […]

Ross & Laura’s pre wedding shoot at Countesswells woods

Pre-Wedding

Oh my!  The light was so pretty the day i met up with Ross & Laura!  The north east of Scotland has been great this winter for gorgeous low light.  we have had so many pretty, clear and crisp days that are perfect for woodland walks and photos.  I met up with Ross, Laura and their pet pooch chooch (had to be said!) at Countesswells forest, which was a new location for me.  I love dogs and am hoping to get one this year when i move to a home with a garden…Meanwhile this is the place to go- it is […]

Samantha & Samuel’s wedding at Mar Lodge, Braemar

weddings

My final wedding of 2014 was Samantha and Samuel’s wedding at Mar Lodge yesterday.  They decided to get married up in Scotland whilst on holiday from Cornwall.  I love the Cairngorms national park and couldn’t resist taking some pics on my drive up to Mar Lodge.  I was expecting more snow and was surprised that it was a rather balmy 7 degrees, my hat, scarf and gloves were not necessary! Samantha and Samuel were joined by immediate family and their dogs, it was a lovely intimate ceremony.  They had a choice of any room in Mar Lodge to get married […]

Jill & Garry’s pre wedding shoot at Footdee

Pre-Wedding

Jill & Garry are getting married in two days!  We met up a couple of months ago in Footdee for their pre wedding shoot.  Like most people, Jill isn’t a big fan of getting her photograph taken, so it was the perfect chance to get used to being in front of the camera.  They both got the hang of it pretty quick, i’m not a big fan of overly posed images so it’s just a case of trying to forget that me and the camera are there. Looking forward to seeing these two again on Sunday!
