Rory & Viv’s wedding at Falls of feugh restaurant

weddings

I photographed Rory & Viv’s wedding at the Falls of Feugh restaurant back in September (it was a crazy busy month!) I used to work with Rory at Aberdeen Journals, so when he asked if i would photographed his wedding i was delighted.  He has been with Viv for over twenty years, i think the thought of an actual wedding put them off getting married, so when they finally got round to tying the knot they kept the ceremony short and sweet, invited a handful of guests and wanted relaxed and natural photography.  The falls of Feugh restaurant is the […]

Marc & Laura’s pre wedding shoot at Aberdeen beach & Footdee

Pre-Wedding

Marc & Laura are getting married on Friday!  We met up at Aberdeen beach for their pre wedding shoot so they could get a little bit used to being in front of the camera.   Their dog Dandie joined us for the first half, what a delightful wee face he has!  We then had a stroll in to Footdee and chatted about wedding plans and looked for our favorite sheds.

Andrew Family shoot at Dunecht Estate

Portrait Shoot

I met up with the Andrew family near their home at Dunecht Estate, it is so pretty in Autumn and such a peaceful place to go for a stroll.  The plan was to get some natural family shots and to photograph their gorgeous son Dee being the active wee boy he is!  He was such a typical boy, picking up sticks, sitting in mud and running all over the place, i wanted to photograph him just as he was, keeping the posing to a minimum!

Julia & Artem’s couples shoot at Duthie Park

Pre-Wedding

Aberdeen Photographers:  Julia got in touch asking if i would do a couple’s shoot of her and Artem, her fiance.   Julia is studying at RGU university for one year while  Artem remains in Russia, he  came over for one week to visit her and she wanted some photographs of them together to remember his trip.  We met up in Duthie Park which was looking very pretty in Autumn, they were really easy to photograph, although they both said they weren’t confident speaking English, i thought they were both great!

Emma & Alan’s pre wedding shoot at Crathes

Pre-Wedding

When Emma suggested meeting up at the entrance to Crathes castle for their pre wedding shoot, i thought it was a great idea, every time i drive to Crathes Castle, i always think how pretty the drive is up to the car park, i didn’t even notice there was a lake,  it is definitely worth a walk.  Emma & Alan get married on Friday at Meldrum House Hotel, just a few days to go!

Dalgarno Family portrait session

Portrait Shoot

I met Rachael when she was a bridesmaid at a wedding i photographed in July, i should also mention what an awesome chief bridesmaid she was, she had everything covered and even did a speech for her best buddy Denni.  Rachael is now living in Australia working as a nurse but before she left she wanted some really relaxed, fun family portraits with her mum, dad, brother, nephew and family dog.  I’m not a big fan of awkward posed pictures in a confined space, i love being outdoors and making the most of what Scotland has to offer.  It didn’t […]

Duncan & Gillian’s wedding at Banchory Lodge Hotel

weddings

Aberdeen wedding photographers:  Duncan & Gillian got married at Banchory Lodge hotel at the beginning of October, the day started out a bit dreich (the hotel pic was taken later in the day!) but it turned out to be such a gorgeous Autumnal day with beautiful light and colours.  Gillian’s hair and make up was finished  when i arrived thanks to her work mates so she had plenty of time to chill out, open presents, drink champagne and have a skype chat with a friend before the ceremony.  Gillian’s gorgeous wee nephew cooper made quite an entrance walking up the […]

George & Sally’s wedding at the Palm Court

weddings

George & Sally got married at the Palm Court hotel last month (i’m catching up on my blogging after a crazy busy period) I originally met them both at the Your Wedding Exhibition at the AECC in January, George got chatting to mum, who was helping me out.  George was won over by my mum’s charisma and patter- hopefully my photographs too!  Thanks mum!  We started off with some bridal prep in the morning, Sally’s bridesmaid and niece Emma was on make up duty, she had also made up an amazing bridal hamper, filled with lots of lovely hand crafted […]

Photography Farm training

Portrait Shoot

Wedding photographers Aberdeen: It’s the time of year i like to do a wee bit of photography training, I always learn something new and it’s great to meet new people who are in the same business so you can get fresh ideas, try out different equipment or hear about new software… which is life changing!!  I’m not exaggerating! I went to Photography Farm Elements in Glasgow, day one consisted of meeting up in Sloans and watching photographer Adam Bronkhorst show us some OCF techniques and flash attachments…. The MasterCard got a bit of a bruising when i got home! Day […]
