Tom & Ashleigh’s wedding at St Mary’s Chapel Blairs & Maryculter House Hotel

weddings

Aberdeen Wedding Photographers: Tom & Ashleigh got married at the beautiful Roman Catholic church, St Mary’s Chapel at Blairs, it was my first time shooting there and i thought it was just gorgeous!  The Deacon John Wire was really helpful and a delight to work with as well.  Ashleigh and Tom wanted a very candid style of photography so i was taking lots of natural pics throughout the day.  The ceremony was lovely , Tom and Ashleigh were so funny when they were reading together they couldn’t help but crease up, i was chuckling behind the camera to- awesome moment! Jamie & Denni’s pre wedding shoot at Duff house

Pre-Wedding

I met up with Jamie and Denni in Banff, i wouldn’t usually travel so far but i made the exception as they live there and wanted to do the shoot at Duff House which is very pretty!   I was also intrigued when Jamie said there was a tree branch they really wanted a photo on so he was taking a ladder along on the shoot, it sounded very sweet and reminded me of one of my favourite childhood films Forest Gump when Forest and Jenny hang out on a tree.

Hud Doon The Deece – My final project at University 2006

Uncategorized

Seeing posters around Aberdeen for the RGU’s end of year arts show has made me think about my time at Uni studying photography at Napier University in Edinburgh 2002-2006.  The fire at Glasgow School of Art also made me realise how lucky i was that i still have all my negatives and prints that i did back then.  I really feel for those students. My main project in my last year was ‘Hud doon the deece’ meaning ‘later years of rest’ in doric ( i got that from a doric book, so blame the book if any fellow Aberdonians think […]

weddings

Aberdeen wedding photographers: Angela and Kev got married at Ardoe House hotel on Friday.  The ceremony was held by the lovely Maggie and watched on by their closest family and friends, even Angela’s friend living in Australia was watching the ceremony by skype.   There was a cheeky moment or two thanks to the guys during the kilt shot…Those pics were a  bit X rated for my website!   I loved watching Kev and Angela rock out to their first dance, they were completely in their own wee world- Awesome.

Angela & Kev’s pre wedding shoot

Pre-Wedding

I met up with Angela & Kev just outside of Newmachar on a sunny summer evening, the light was so pretty i had to do some shooting in to the sun to get soft dreamy pictures.  Angela’s dog Harv even made a wee appearance at the end of the shoot.  Roll on tomorrow for their wedding day!!

Carys & Andy’s wedding at Coos cathedral, Aboyne

weddings

Aberdeen wedding photographers: I was back at the Lovely Coo’s cathedral for Carys and Andy’s wedding on Saturday, the venue looked awesome with massive balloons, hay bales, bunting, bright flowers and other wee bits and pieces, high five to Carys and Andy for their hard work, it was well worth it!  I started the day of in Catterline with Carys and her bridesmaids, it was ridiculously chilled with everyone sitting helping out each other with their hair with a drink in hand.  Carys and Andy’s dog Nia was picked up by Jennifer at Top Dawg, she was whisked away for […]

Claire & Pete’s wedding at Coo’s Cathedral

weddings

Aberdeen photographers/ Aberdeen wedding photographers: As i write this i’m sipping on my favour from Claire and Pete’s wedding, it was a wee bottle of gin infused with berry flavours from Claire’s parents garden- yum!  So Coo’s Cathedral, i love it and Claire and Pete made it look awesome!  All the guests were photographed underneath a cow head with a fancy hat, it was a great start to the day!  I love the image of Claire’s grandparents who were dairy farmers until not long ago (hardcore farmers working well in to their 80′s!)  They had a humanist ceremony with Pete’s […]

Carys & Andy’s pre wedding shoot

Pre-Wedding

Aberdeen photographers/Aberdeen wedding photographers. I met up with Carys & Andy in Catterline, i had never been out there before so i was excited about shooting somewhere new.  I was also excited When Carys mentioned they had a field of oilseed rape near their house, i love how yellow and bright it is!  Nia their little Corgi came out for the shoot as well and proved to be a great wee model.  Andy and Carys are getting married at one of my favourite venues next month, the Coo’s Cathedral.  It is such a stunning building, it’s difficult to believe it’s […]

Aberdeen photographers/Aberdeen wedding photographers: Alan & Jody got married yesterday at Pittodrie house hotel.  The sun was shining so they had an out door ceremony looking on to Bennachie- just gorgeous!  As soon as i arrived at Jody’s parents house for the bridal prep i was welcomed by Molly their adorable dog and ring bearer for the day!  The drinks were flowing and the sun stayed out for more pictures around the grounds, the food was awesome, the band got everyone up and dancing and we played with sparklers!  Well done to the sparkler writers, its not as easy as […]

Steve & Emma’s wedding at Fasque House

weddings

Aberdeen photographers/wedding photographers Aberdeen: Steve & Emma got married!  This was my first wedding at Fasque and the stories were all true- it is STUNNING!  Every room is beautiful.  Steve and Emma said their vows at the chapel on the grounds at Fasque which is very quaint.  The rain started but we put up some colourful brollies and made the most of it!  Emma’s twin sister made a beautiful heart felt speech during the ceremony, the guests were treated to ice cream, Steve at one point had a pint of gin & tonic (i was rather envious!), Auntie Sheila got […]
