Steve & Emma’s wedding at Fasque House

weddings

Aberdeen photographers/wedding photographers Aberdeen: Steve & Emma got married!  This was my first wedding at Fasque and the stories were all true- it is STUNNING!  Every room is beautiful.  Steve and Emma said their vows at the chapel on the grounds at Fasque which is very quaint.  The rain started but we put up some colourful brollies and made the most of it!  Emma’s twin sister made a beautiful heart felt speech during the ceremony, the guests were treated to ice cream, Steve at one point had a pint of gin & tonic (i was rather envious!), Auntie Sheila got […]

Tom & Ashleigh’s pre wedding shoot at Dunecht Estate

Pre-Wedding

Aberdeen photographers/Aberdeen wedding photographers: I would love to live in Dunecht Estate, i think it’s so pretty and some of the houses are so quaint.  When Ashleigh asked for location suggestions i came up with the estate as it had been a while since i had photographed there and it didn’t disappoint, although the weather was a bit nuts!  Rain/sun/rain/sun- just your usual hour in Aberdeenshire!  It was great to catch up with Ashleigh and Tom and to hear more about their wedding plans, not long to go!

Malawi maternal health exhibit at May Festival Aberdeen university

Uncategorized

Aberdeen photographers:  I was asked by Immpact to have a wee exhibit at the May festival at Aberdeen University to coincide with ‘In conversation with Kate Adie’ and a panel of experts discussing maternal in the developing world.  Dr Ann Phoya  flew over from Malawi to take to the stage.  I must admit that i didn’t know who kate Adie was so i did a quick google search and soon realised she was a bit of a big deal!  The event was hosted by BBC Scotland’s Fiona Stalker, she asked Kate a variety of questions to which she replied […]

Nicki & Rhea’s wedding at Norwood Hall Hotel

weddings

Aberdeen photographers/Aberdeen wedding photographers: Nicki and Rhea got married yesterday!  In Rhea’s words- it was TOTES EMOSH!  They nearly had me bubbling when they first set on eyes on each other as Rhea walked up the aisle with her dad and i did have to wipe away a few tears during Nicki’s speech, his words were straight from the heart (sounds corny but so true!)  I have no doubt that they partied hard in to the night with all their guests!

Bwaila Maternity unit, Malawi

Uncategorized

Aberdeen photographers: I visited Bwaila Maternity unit last month while i was in Malawi taking photographs for Immpact, a charity based within Aberdeen University, they are a global research initiative for the evaluation of maternal and newborn health intervention strategies in developing countries.  My experience at this city clinic was very different to the rural clinic i visited, the women were not so keen to be photographed and quite a few refused this obviously made it more difficult but i fully understood.  The lovely midwife Florence (the nurse in blue) showed me around the hospital, from where the babies get weighed- […]

Nick & Alexis’ wedding

weddings

Aberdeen wedding photographers: Nick & Alexis got married at Cults Parish Church with the reception at Musa.  Cults Parish church is stunning inside and out and Musa is definitely one of Aberdeen’s unique buildings, for those who don’t know the history, it was originally a banana warehouse!  Now back to Nick and Alexis,  they organised their wedding in just 6 months!   High five to them for all their organisation in such a short time.  Alexis had a few props which i always love and Nick even gave her car a wee make over too.  We went to the Marcliffe […]

Nick & Lex’s pre wedding shoot at Stonehaven harbour

Pre-Wedding

Aberdeen wedding photographers:  I met up with Nick and Lex at Stonehaven harbour, I know the area quite well as i have spent many a Sunday walking along the beach or to Dunnottar castle then stopping for a glass of wine at one of the harbour pubs- perfect Sunday!   They got engaged on the Golden Gate bridge in San Francisco and started planning their wedding not long after they got home.  Stonehaven harbour was nice and quiet as Nick and Lex were a bit nervous posing for photos, i try to keep the images as informal as i can […]

Khuwi maternity clinic Malawi

Uncategorized

Aberdeen Photographers:  As part of my visit to Malawi to document maternal health for IMMPACT, a charity based in Aberdeen University  (http://www.abdn.ac.uk/iahs/research/immpact-92.php ) a visit to Khuwi maternity clinic was organised.  I was joined by two midwives/lecturers from the Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen.  We were driven out to the clinic which was about an hour out of the capital of Lilongwe, as we approached i was surprised at what a solid building it was in a lovely rural setting.  Our contact Ellen from the Ministry of Health and a local midwife gave us a tour.  As i approached the […]

Malawi time lapse

Uncategorized

I was so incredibly lucky to go to Malawi to document maternal health for a charity called Immpact which is based at Aberdeen university.  For information on the charity check out their website:  http://www.abdn.ac.uk/iahs/research/immpact/index.php While i was there i wanted to have a wee play with the time lapse function on my Nikon D800, i have only ever made one video of me dancing around in my flat, purely for practice and that was swiftly deleted!  I placed my camera on a tripod in the immunisation room at Bwaila maternity clinic, mothers and babies queued patiently waiting for their jabs, […]
