Emma & Craig got married at the lovely Balmakewan farm, near Laurencekirk, it is such a beautiful area. The weather looked a bit ominous as i was driving out but there was only two wee showers the whole day ( a good summer’s day in Scotland!) Let’s start with Emma’s dress- GORGEOUS! I just loved it! It was a very pretty beaded, 1920’s inspired Jenny Packham dress. I did tell her i was jealous and wanted to wear it. She looked beautiful in it and the fit was perfect, her bum got some appreciation later in the evening by her friends, of course i took pics of the bum appreciation!
The ceremony was above the cafe in the attic, i have never seen a couple kiss so much in a ceremony, i counted at least four cheeky wee kisses until the celebrant declared the marriage. The humanist ceremony was lovely, i liked hearing about the first time they met at BBQ and Emma told a friend she would marry Craig….However she played hard to get for 6 months after BBQ, quite right too! After the ceremony there was a wee walk to the marquee, the setting is stunning at this time of year with rhododendrons (thank you spellcheck) and lots of other colourful flowers. I was pleased we left the friend group photos until after the meal as wine has a great affect on people… Emma’s friend group photo ended up with an accidental piley on! My first piley on the bride at a wedding! Craig set up a whisky and cigar bar for the guys, great finishing touch, and while i remember, Craig made the LOVE sign with the light bulbs, how great is that?! I was really impressed!
I asked Emma & Craig to pop out for a few more pics before i left, i always like to make the most of evening light, it’s a lot softer and warmer. while i drove away i could hear the band playing some awesome tunes, i had no doubt they would be partying hard in to the night!
