Oh my what a day! Fern is one of my best buddies so i knew we were in for a brilliant day. I played quite a big part by being maid of honor, photographer, registrar signer, speech giver and craft maker… Well i bought a garter and jazzed it up with the help of Janet from I Heart Art, she stitched a cute wee crab (Mark’s last name is Crabbie) which i attached to the garter along with some Ross Tartan (Fern’s last name) I was quite nervous about all my duties but fortunately we had quite a boozy night the eve before the wedding and i didn’t have time to think about everything on the day!
The ceremony was like no other i have been to… The registrar worded the vows in such a way that Mark’s only choice of answer was to say ‘I don’t! It broke the ice and got every one laughing, fortunately she altered the words and they did end up tying the knot. They decided to keep the wedding small with 25 guests, it was a lovely number as everyone got to chat and get to know each other. I think my speech went down quite well, i was pleased when one of the waiters gave me a high five and said he enjoyed it!
Fern’s flowers and details were lovely, she made candles for the table and her mum made chilli jam as favours. As the night went on and champagne flowed, hats appeared (from a collection in the men’s bathroom!) and we pushed aside the tables to dance. The staff at Prestonfield were amazing, it such a luxurious hotel, nothing was a problem. I appear in a few pics thanks to the guests!
