I’m going way back to a lovely summer’s day in August 2014…. When we didn’t have to wear 5 layers of clothes before leaving the house, in saying that i do love snow! I hope it stays around for my first wedding of 2015 in two weeks!
I was a second shooter at Cara & Dave’s wedding at Balbegno Castle, near Fettercairn. I hadn’t been a second shooter for years but when i saw Camera Hannah- http://www.hannahmillardphotography.com/ looking for assistance on a Facebook photo group we are both in i thought i would lend a hand. Hannah is wedding photographer based in Derby, i picked her up at an airport hotel and we ventured out to Balbegno Castle, i had ever heard of Balbegno Castle so it was exciting to find a wedding venue i never knew about, there are so many hidden gems in the north east of Scotland! What an awesome wedding venue it is, the chapel in the castle has a stunning ceiling and the grounds are perfect for a tipi.
I really enjoyed being a second shooter for the day, i had photographed 6 weddings in August so it was lovely to stand back and take candid shots all day! Hannah needed a second shooter as she does a mix of still and moving image, she really inspired me to use the film setting on my Nikon D800, i was embarrassed to admit i didn’t even know how to switch the setting to moving image! It is definitely something i’m keen to experiment with in 2015…Watch this space – but for now it’s all about the images below.
